The Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) is an advisory agency responsible for providing advice and guidance regarding post-secondary admission and transfer to Advanced Education and the Alberta Transfer System member institutions.
ACAT’s role includes
- developing best practices, guidelines, and procedures to facilitate transfer agreements among post-secondary institutions
- implementing best practices through monitoring, mediation and research
- maintaining the Transfer Alberta website that provides information on learner pathways, including the online Transfer Guide.
- enhancing opportunities for diverse learner pathways including recognition of prior learning.
