Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT)

The Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) is an advisory agency responsible for providing advice and guidance regarding post-secondary admission and transfer to Advanced Education and the Alberta Transfer System member institutions.

ACAT’s role includes

  • developing best practices, guidelines, and procedures to facilitate transfer agreements among post-secondary institutions
  • implementing best practices through monitoring, mediation and research
  • maintaining the Transfer Alberta website that provides information on learner pathways, including the online Transfer Guide.
  • enhancing opportunities for diverse learner pathways including recognition of prior learning.
